Long nails leave plenty of room for imagination. There’s space to play with shape, build out a design, and turn a beauty appointment into an exercise in personal expression. For nail artist Yulenny Garcia, that creative freedom is part of the appeal, and so is the relationship built across the nail table.

“I have always liked the world of art, beauty and creating design,” Garcia tells NAILCON.

It’s a straightforward answer that gets to the heart of her work. Nail artistry brings those interests together in a medium clients can wear, show off, and make their own. And while Garcia works across nail styles, long sets are a particular strength.

“I specialize in all types of nails, but my strong point is long nails.”

Technical skill helps bring a vision to life. Making someone feel comfortable enough to share that vision takes something else. Asked what sets her apart, Garcia points to the experience of sitting in her chair.

“I think what distinguishes me is my personality and the kindness with which I treat each of my clients.”

In a beauty culture where the finished look often gets all the attention, her answer brings the appointment itself back into focus. Behind every set is a person trusting an artist with their hands, their time, and their ideas. Kindness deserves a place in that conversation, too.

One client relationship has been especially memorable: working with Marc Jacobs. Garcia names the designer as a career highlight, while making room for the experiences that came before.

“All the experience I have had in my career has been important,” she explains. “The best experience I have had so far has been having Marc Jacob as a client.”

That collaboration also comes up when the conversation turns to favorite sets. Choosing just one is difficult when every design holds some significance, but her work with Jacobs stands out for its personal creative direction.

“All the designs I have made are special because I love this beautiful art,” Garcia says, describing the designs created with Jacobs as “very special.” As she explains, “they are designs created by him and are unique.”

There’s a particular satisfaction in helping translate someone else’s idea into a finished set. The client brings a point of view; the nail artist brings the skill to make it wearable. For Garcia, that exchange has become one of the most meaningful parts of her career.

Still, when asked what advice she would give her younger self, her answer returns to the daily work of continuing, even when the path gets difficult.

“The advice I’d give myself is to never give up, to keep going and to overcome all the obstacles I found along the way.”

It’s fitting advice from an artist who values every experience along that path. The long sets and memorable collaborations are part of Yulenny Garcia’s story. So are the appointments, the kindness, and the decision to keep creating.
